well-stocked local shop, means you need not venture far for essentials, allowing more time for fun, frolics
and feasting.
WELCOME INSIDE
The Retreat is a homestay with integriy, whose accommodation is perfectly laid out and beautifully presented. Iroka Design, a leading Cornish interiors company, is responsible for the elegant and understated coastal theme that runs throughout the property. The refreshing combination of functionality and style makes for a holiday home that ticks all the boxes for every guest. The open-plan living and dining area is a sociable space for beginning and ending the day, while bedrooms entice sun-kissed and ocean-weary adventurers to rest their heads and regenerate for the following day’s escapade.
STEP OUTSIDE
Throw open the patio doors and invite the sea air in before stepping out into the enclosed tiered garden for a morning coffee or a sun-downer. Catch the last rays of sun on the lawn before enjoying an al fresco dinner on the lower terrace. Widemouth’s Beach House Shop has an excellent fish counter where the day’s catch from local waters is the freshest you’ll find; perfect for popping over the coals of the BBQ. After a day on the beach sandy toes and salty wetsuits can be washed off in the outdoor shower.
VENTURE FORTH
The Retreat is perfectly positioned for all that this area of north Cornwall has to offer. There are both dog-friendly and life-guarded beaches nearby and this stretch of coastline is a surfer’s paradise with local schools offering lessons and hire. Nearby Bude’s streets bustle with life, while the canalside area of the town has a gentler pace for strolling. Look out for pop-up pizza perfection from The Crust in Widemouth Bay; that’s supper sorted while watching the sun dip down beneath the ocean.

BEDROOMS AND BATHROOMS
The Retreat has four bedrooms. The master, with en suite, has a king size bed. There are two further bedrooms both with zip and link beds that can either be set up as a double or a twin room. The fourth bedroom, ideal for younger guests, has twin beds. There is a family bathroom on the first floor and a cloakroom on the ground floor.
LIVING AND DINING
There is a well-equipped kitchen with a large Panasonic American style fridge-freezer, Bosch hob and double oven, dishwasher and Dualit coffee machine. The utility room houses a Bosch washing machine and microwave with hanging space for coats and beach equipment. The living area benefits from underfloor heating, a woodburning stove and large sofas, while the dining table comfortably seats eight.

This property accepts one small to medium, well-behaved dog. Dogs must not be left unattended and there is a sleeping space for a bed or crate in the utility room.

The local surfing beach is just a short walk away.
WALKERS
The South West Coast Path can be joined within a few minute's walk.
