Priestacott House

Priestacott House is the archetypal Edwardian country residence, full of original features, in which you, your friends and family can enjoy a cottage holiday that will relax and refresh you. Experience the peace, quiet and calm of this property located deep in the heart of Ruby Country close to the River Torridge. Wander through the orchard and explore the 70 acres of meadows and ponds where flora and fauna abound. Admire the stunning views over rolling countryside and on to Dartmoor. The property is centrally situated to discover the delights of North Cornwall, Devon and the Cornwall Coast as well as inland attractions.

Take the opportunity to use the facilities available. You may wish to fish in the well stocked ponds (Coarse and Fly) and rods and equipment, tips and tuition are available at no extra cost; maybe catch a Rainbow Trout to cook on the Barbeque later! Try a game of tennis on the grass court and there is also a badminton court with racquets available. There is a full size pool table and dart board in the games room, formerly the stable block and clay pigeon shooting, along with tuition and equipment, can be arranged at the Devon Shooting Ground....or....just settle in a luxury lounger with a book and a glass and soak up the tranquillity.

There are five spacious bedrooms, several with fantastic views and a wonderfully appointed drawing room where you can sit by the woodburner (unlimited logs and coal are provided at no extra charge) and discuss the day's events. There is a warming Rayburn in the kitchen and the sumptuous dining room with antique table is perfect for large family celebrations. A truly exceptional house retaining so much character yet well equipped with modern comforts and facilities.

What a fantastic venue for a family get together! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here with plenty of room for our two families, three young children and one dog! Williams Family, Oxford

We hired Priestacott House out for our Christmas family holiday 2010 and together with the owners of the property and Nick of Elite they made it the best Christmas we had ever had. The house itself was amazing, it was exactly as the website advertised, except the website probably did not give enough justice to the character of the house and its history. The bedrooms were lovely and the beds were so comfortable. The kitchen was fully equipped and it was lovely sitting around the table in the morning with the AGA heating the room. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the owners made us feel extremely welcome. We would love to book this house again!!! The Moore Family, Buckinghamshire

We have just returned from a fabulous holiday at Priestacott House which was absolutely amazing. The accomodation was first class, just right for our family of 10. We made full use of all the amenities available-bbq's most nights in the garden followed by a tennis match! We even managed a birthday treasure hunt in the extensive gardens. The location was perfect, ideal for exploring the North Devon and Cornwall coast. We would love to return again, couldn't get a better place to stay in North Devon. Robin Harmar, North Yorkshire
